Is Juice.gg Fair?
Juice.gg ensures game fairness, transparency, and integrity through the use of a provably fair system. This provably fair system uses cryptography to verify the result of every game. You can independently verify each result, ensuring complete transparency and eliminating the possibility of manipulation. A provably fair system removes the need to blindly trust the results. It gives you the tools to verify that the results are completely random and therefore unpredictable. A full example of this process is as follows:
House commits: The house (server) generates a random "server seed" for your account but only shows you its hash, which forms the "commit" part of commit-reveal.
You see the server seed hash: You are able to see and save the hash of the server seed before you play. This shows that the commit has been formed.
You make a Play: You play a single player game and provide the house with your client seed as an external source of randomness.
House generates the result: The server seed, client (external) seed, and other input data are combined and used to generate the result for the game you've chosen.
House reveals for verification: After the play, the house reveals the original secret server seed.
You verify the result: There are two things you now verify:
You verify that the revealed server seed is correct by hashing it and comparing that hash against the one the house committed to earlier. If they are the same, you know that the house stayed true to its commitment and didn't change the server seed when you played.
You then combine the server seed with the other input data to generate the result of your game and see that it's the same as what the house generated.
